William Haggas’s outstanding record in the Chapel Down Handicap- Heritage Handicap continued when The Reverend duly completed a comfortable victory by 3 lengths with David Probert in the saddle.

The son of Lope De Vega flourished in first-time cheekpieces to give the trainer a third win in the race’s last four runnings. It was also his fourth win in the contest in the last decade.

Probert bagged a double on the card after getting up close home to get the better of Brooklyn Nine Nine by a neck.

The oldest runner in the Fever Tree Handicap over 6f, Fresh completed a fourth track success after having to survive a stewards enquiry. The seven-year-old gelding led close home to beat Tacarib Bay by a nose under Billy Loughnane.

Claimer Joe Leavy notched his first win for trainer Ralph Beckett on Grey’s Mountain in the opener on the card.

Beckett, who had a double at Kempton on Friday along with a winner at Ascot’s Friday meeting, continued his purple patch when Fair Point up in trip relished the extra furlong and ground to win the 1m fillies handicap by one and three quarter lengths with Rob Hornby aboard.

Earlier, James Doyle completed a quick fire double after winning on Law Of Design in the 7f novice stakes and following up with a cosy victory for Brioni in the 1m 2f handicap.
