“Hi, it’s Rob Day! Although I am relatively new to Radio Woking, I have been involved with local radio since 1990. Some of these were FM Stations with special licences.
I have been lucky enough to present all different types of programmes with different genres, from rock & roll and all that jazz, comedy shows, early morning breakfast shows, as well as some late nights.
I have been involved in amateur dramatics and have performed at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre, and once on the New Vic stage! I now enjoy being part of the cast in radio plays (you don’t have to spend months learning scripts!)
I have just retired from the fire service after serving 49 Years and therefore have got more time to volunteer to do what I love to do and hopefully this will show with my radio show.
I will be part of the breakfast show team and my show will be from 7am to 9am on a Thursday. This will include features, news and information along with great music.
I originally come from Bath and lived a few houses down from Dame Mary Berry’s parents in Charlcome and used to help her younger brother on the farm.
Her younger brother William taught me some rude words and when I asked my mum what they meant, oh boy! I had my mouth cleaned; those were the days!
I am very happy to be involved with Radio Woking, especially as I know many of the presenters.
I only hope that you enjoy my breakfast show, and join me from 7am every Thursday on Radio Woking.”
