The red hot form of jockey Cieren Fallon continues at a pace after the 28 year old brought up his 40th winner of the campaign with a double at Goodwood on Friday afternoon.
The opening day of the May Festival was blessed with glorious sunshine with Fallon steering Bahadur and Orionis to victory.
Bahadur kicked on nicely around the bend under Fallen to score by one and a quarter lengths for Sean Woods.
The quick fire double was soon completed with Orionis taking the 1m 4f fillies handicap for William Haggas.
Despite being off for 230 days, the four-year-old was prominent throughout before being pushed along over 1f out to be eased down close home.
Eve Johnson Houghton looks to have another special two-year-old after Night In Vegas remained unbeaten to make it two wins from two in the 6f opening race on the card.
A winner at Ascot a fortnight ago, the son of Lucky Vega led over 1f out before Charlie Bishop asked the horse to go on and won cosily.
Richard Hannon’s filly Pershaada opened her account at the third time of asking after being placed in both previous starts. The half sister to Collusion ran on nicely to land the 5f fillies novice stakes for the Middleham Park Racing Club.
The main race of the day, the Fitzdares Festival Stakes went to the Karl Burke trained Boiling Point who got the better of Naqeeb by a short head with Shane Gray in the plate.
Seven Questions last win was over two years ago, but today he managed to get his head in front in the 5f handicap by a head from Star Chorus.
