Kinnersley trainer James Evans added to his impressive seasons victories in the Epsom Deash and Sky Bet Sunday Series yesterday when American Rose justified favouritism in the 7f handicap.
The filly went one better than her previous outing at Chepstow three months ago by getting her head in front to get the better of Capallcliste.
“It’s been a good season and we’ve now had three quick winners, which has put us on the front foot a little bit,” said Evans, who has saddled nine Flat winners this year.
As for American Rose, her last victory occurred at Wolverhampton in December 2022, and she had not win in 14 races before this success.
He added: “The owner, Barry Preece, bought her online unseen a few years ago and she won as a two-year-old for us to win a bonus, which was great.
“Since then, she’s been a bit frustrating, but she’s getting the hang of things now.”
Stuart Williams certainly enjoys sending his horses out quickly after their previous run and Kracking continued that theme by taking the opener with a front running ride with Luke Catton aboard.
The four-year-old won an apprentice event last week at Salisbury before finishing second at Yarmouth on Monday.
An interesting newcomer appears to be the Richard Hannon trained Brazilian Rose who showed plenty of promise on debut to take the 7f maiden fillies stakes.
The three-year-old looked home and dry with a furlong to go, but had to fend off the challenge of the fast finishing Delicacy.
Bottom weight Snooker Mccrew was a surprise winner of the 1m 1yard handicap for trainer Stan Moore.
Looking to put behind him his disappointing run at Chepstow a month ago, on the all weather surface the horse looked at home and under Liam Keniry he just got the better of Con Te Partiro to win by a short head.
