Champion jockey Oisin Murphy picked up where he left off at Windsor last night by riding a treble at Salisbury, just hours after bagging a four timer at the Berkshire course.
Murphy, currently leading the jockeys championship by 15 from William Buick, started off his successful Tuesday by steering the novice two-year-old Factual on debut to victory in the opener on the card.
The Irishman had to wait for the fifth race of the afternoon to bring up his second winner at the course when Marnier up set the odds on chance Triple Gee by one and a half lengths in the Class 4 1m 4f maiden stakes, to maintain Andrew Balding’s impressive winning three-year-olds stats which currently stands at 49.
Murphy, was soon celebrating his treble on the day by steering Patagonia Girl to success in the 1m 2f fillies handicap for Northern trainer Hugo Palmer.
Despite being fairly quirky in the parade ring, Zavateri eventually settled down to make a winning debut under Charles Bishop for trainer Eve Johnson Houghton.
Safari Dream was bidding for a hat trick of wins and duly obliged after coming through on the rails to go on and win by half a length from The Thames Boatman in the George Smith Horseboxes Handicap run over 6f.
Ralph Beckett is a regular visitor to Salisbury and rarely comes away empty handed. The Kimpton Down trainer sent three horses on the short trip to Wiltshire, with Revelance being successful in the 6f novice stakes.
The three-year-old last ran 216 days ago back at Kempton over a mile and finished second. Dropping down in trip, the filly got the better of Dr Strangelove in a thrilling finish to win by a head.
Rage Of Thunder under Tom Queally took the finale on the card after coming up late on the outside before switching and running on nicely to complete a two and three quarter length success from Oldbury Lad for the Moore’s in the 6f handicap for the Ronnie Racing 2 Syndicate.
