Double for Beckett continues his fine form at Kempton Park

Trainers Simon and Ed Crisford and Raf Beckett both claimed doubles at Kempton Park last night on the nine race card at the venue.

The Crisford’s took the opener a 7f handicap with Mezzo Soprana and followed up with Port Erin in the fifth race on the card.

The prolific yard of Beckett struck twice in an hour when Ciro Di Marzio with Hornby on board just got the better of Treasure Time by a neck.

Beckett’s yard- who are flying at the moment especially with his two year olds- completed his double when Zoum Zoum under Hornby beat the odds on chance Imperial Guard by one and a half lengths.

There was a comfortable victory by Tamfana in the Class 5 maiden fillies stakes for two year olds with Kevin Stott steering the filly to a comprehensive win by nine and a half lengths for Pulborough trainer David Menuisier.

Another trainer who is in fine form at the moment is Andrew Balding. Royal Supremacy gave him another winner at the Surrey track with Oisin Murphy in the saddle.

Middleham trainer Charlie Johnston normally is successful down south and Bohemian Breeze kept up his fine record at the track by winning the penultimate race of the night at the nice price of 7-1.

There was a big shock in the finale of the night when the 28-1 shot Stella Hogan under Charlie Benett provided John O’Shea with success. The trainer saddled two in the race with the outsider of the two winning nicely.
