Green Sky duly completed her hat trick of victories after landing the 1m 5f handicap under champion jockey Oisin Murphy cosily by four lengths.
However, the real drama leading up to the race dominated trainer Rod Millman, with the mare looking at one stage as though she wouldn’t make the long trip from Devon to Berkshire in time.
“It’s been a bit of a stressful day for the poor girl who was stuck on the motorway for several hours at Bridgewater today. It was touch and go wherever she would get here or not, but luckily the motorway opened again” said a relieved Millman after the race.
“We were stuck in traffic for two hours. We left Exeter early being a Friday” Millman added.
“She’s had to put up with a bit of stick today, so has my wife sat next to me, stressing that we were going to get here.”

The Michael Dods-trained son of Bayside Boy stepped up in class after winning his first two starts at Thirsk in maiden and novice company, but proved equal to the task by getting the better of Godolphin’s 850,000gns purchase Nabati by a neck.
Joint Owner Doug Graham told Sky Sports Racing: “I always wanted a horse good enough to run at York and Dakota Gold won there six times, so that was just out of this world. I thought I’d got a horse in a million at our level of racing.
“Then Commanche Falls came along and I thought I’d pack in racing while I was at the top. Then this guy comes along. Today was a big test for him and he’s passed it with flying colours. We didn’t really know what to expect, but I’m just living the dream.”
Connor Beasley has been on board for all three of Arapaho Gold’s wins and said: “He’s a horse we’ve always liked. I think he’s only going to get better after this because he’s learned plenty today. I really like him and hopefully he can continue on that upward curve.”
Richard Hughes’s two-year-old debutants are also worth while looking out for with Al Samsama adding to that list after a pleasing debut to take the maiden fillies stakes over six furlongs.
A 145,000 gns buy, she was always prominent under William Buick before being ridden and rallied inside final furlong, ran on to lead final strides to win by half a length.
Buick had to wait to the finale on the card before bagging a double after he steered Devil’s Peak to victory in a titanic battle with Murphy aboard Turty Tree.
The pair were neck and neck in the final 100 yards with Buick getting up on the line ro score by a short head.

The Old Gold Racing syndicate look to have a very nice horse on their hands after Accademia completed back-to-back victories after getting up on the line, thanks to using the stand side rail to win by a head.
