Willy Twiston-Davies believes Ferocimo could be one of the best novice hurdlers in their yard after he made a striking debut to win the 2m3f novice hurdle and continue the fantastic form of the Twiston- Davise’s after making it their tenth winner in the past fortnight.
The four-year-old, a point-to-point winner before being bought for £115,000, won by 14 lengths under birthday boy Sam Twiston-Davies, who turned 34 on Thursday.
Joint-trainer Willy said “I think he’s a very nice horse. He’s probably one of our nicest novices.”
“I had a Zoom call with all the Rincon partners at the beginning of the month and the last month and the plan was always to go to the October meeting, but that looking like it’s going to be quick.”
“As I said, the L Ring on Syndicate involving all the boys, Sir Alex, Paul Hogarth, Paul Stewart, James McGough, there’s a great team with them.”
“We thought we’d just come here while the ground’s nice and it’s a nice starting point and he was very relaxed.”
“He’ll probably go to Cheltenham November meeting for that grade 2, the Potters Charm 1 and similar lines.”

The 11-8 shot breezed clear of Nightflyer, who was carrying a penalty to score by 14 lengths and impress the watching crowd.
When asked about the yard’s excellent start to the season, Willie was honest in his assessment.
“Maybe we are slightly ahead of some yards, but no, I think we hopefully just got a nice bunch of horses.”
Katios Queen made made a strong start to her hurdling career with victory in the 2m1½f mares novice contest. The 2-1 shot travelled well and was delivered confidently at the finish by Tristan Durrell, seeing off Roxy Russet by two and a quarter lengths.
Henreita Knight always enjoys her visits to the Sussex track, and normally comes back with a winner. Five horses were sent down from Wantage, with Uncle Remus taking the 2m 2f handicap hurdle under Brendan Powell.
The gelding has turned around a shaky start to his hurdling career, building on a breakthrough success at Uttoxeter and runner up in a hot handicap there eleven days ago.
Despite wandering around at the finish, the five-year-old was comfortable under Powell, drawing away from the field to score by five and a half lengths.

James Owen certainly can’t do anything wrong at the moment with Crooked Path adding to his current list of winners after landing the 2m 3f opener on the card with Callum Pritchard aboard.
Double Powerful prevailed in the 2m 6f handicap chase to give Neil Mullholland a welcome winner.
The seven-year-old reappeared with a good third in a listed handicap hurdle at the Galway Festival in August.
The gelding travelled well on his chasing debut, by making all to land the odds by six and a half lengths.
Somerset trainer Alexandra Dunn brought up her fifth winner of the jump campaign after saddling Holy Legend to victory in the 2m 4f handicap chase.
Four of those victories have come from the reliable Holy Legend who made it two winners at Fontwell this season with a four and a half length success with James Best in the plate.
