On Tonight’s We Love Woking Show….
Mental Health. A very important subject which many years ago people didn’t really understand, but something which affects us all, in one way or another.
Thankfully now due to extensive campaigns there is a lot more awareness around the subject, and also alot more help for those of us affected.
It’s a pleasure this evening to welcome the team from CornerHouse.
CornerHouse is a local charity offering emotional and wellbeing support in Woking, Runnymede and Spelthorne.
Their groups support people aged 18+ who are dealing with a wide range of mental health issues including:
Depression & postnatal depression, Anxiety, Carers support groups, Eating disorders, Social isolation.
They also run regular mindfulness sessions, a Young Persons Group (18-25) and Walking for Health walks, promoting emotional and physical wellbeing. The Woking Safe Haven is available out of hours for crisis support.
We’ll be learning about how they started, the roles of the staff & volunteers, their various help groups, mindfulness, how they raise funds for the charity and lots more.
If you need any help, or advice about anything mentioned above, you can contact Corner House on 01483 757461
or via email firstname.lastname@example.org
In the second hour, we have events & happenings from around the area, including….
CPR demonstrations by Woking Fire Fighters, Air Cadets 1349 Woking Squadron Open Evenings, Byfleet Running Festival and a quiz night in Horsell for Home Start Runnymede & Woking.
All that and lots of cool music in between….how can you say no??
