This Sunday we celebrate International Women’s Day. An official national holiday in many countries, IWD has been marked around the world since 1911.
9.00 Sharon will consider the importance of IWD and its relevance to today.
10.00 Heidi Copeman will be speaking about gender equality issues through history to the present day and the impact these often unconscious ‘values’ have in our everyday lives.
11.00 Gorel Bogarde Director of Policy, Advocacy and Campaigns for Plan International (headquarters in Woking!) will introduce us to the work that Plan International undertakes around the globe with particular regard to their policies and programmes based around the “Because I am a Girl” campaigns.
