Joe Tizzard continues on his winning ways as Ilovethenightlife strikes in the daytime

By Peter Moore at Kempton Park 11th November 2024
Joe Tizzard continued his impressive strike rate by saddling his eighth winner in the last
14 days when Ilovethenightlife got up to win by a neck in the 2m 4f handicap chase at
Kempton on Monday afternoon.
The six-year-old mare gradually wore down long time leader Sacre Coeur’s advantage of
twenty lengths before reeling in the grey mare to get up on the line under Brendan
Powell.
The main race on a sunny but chilly November afternoon the Pretemps Network
Handicap Hurdle was won by the Olly Murphy trained Pyramid Place with Sean Bowen
aboard for his only ride of the day.
The opening race of the day was pretty chaotic with Piper Park unseating his rider at the
fifth. The loose horse wandering across the track, almost causing eventual winner HMS
President to be taken out. But Tom Cannon somehow managed to brush aside Piper
Park to go on and win easing down by seven and a half lengths to justify the long odds
on favourite’s odds.
Jockey Gavin Sheehan picked up a double on the day after steering Climbing and
Magical Arthur to victory.
Bottom weight Climbing made up for a disappointing run previously at Sedgefield to
land the 2m 4f novices handicap chase, with Sheehan completing a double on top
weight Magical Arthur who was challenged coming into the straight before finding a turn
of foot to pull clear to win by eleven lengths, despite a mistake at the last.
Nicky Henderson was a relieved man after finally getting a winner after a baron spell
when Califet En Vol took the 2m 5f novices hurdle under Nico de Boinville.
After finishing runner up on his only outing in an Irish point to point, followed by an
encouraging run in a bumper back in April, the five-year-old travelled well with an
impressive display of jumping to win comfortably by 15 lengths.
Sanitiser finally managed to get his head in front after finishing second three times in his
past four runs.
The Gary & Josh Moore trained gelding has been knocking on the door this spring but
today was the day he managed to strike over hurdles to win by two lengths from Douglas
DC.
