Instant Gambler sealed a four timer since switching from hurdles to the larger obstacles with a comfortable success in landing the 3m 2f handicap chase on a lovely sunny afternoon in Sussex.

The Alex Dunn trained eight-year- old has now won three times at Fontwell after a seven length victory under Adam Wedge.

The horse put on another impressive jumping display and had no trouble coping with the soft ground.

The Somerset trainer has now matched her seasonal tally of five jumps winners from last season.

Local trainers Jim and Suzi Best trained a third winner from their last six runners to maintain their impressive strike rate when Colours On Canvas justified heavy support in the market to win the feature 2m 3f handicap hurdle.

Under Sean Bowen the five-year-old kept on courageously to see off the challenge of Whatsupwith you to deny trainer Ben Pauling a treble on the afternoon.

Earlier the Naunton trainer picked up a quick fire double after saddling Golden Ambition and Samazul to victories in the 2m 5 and a half furlong handicap hurdle and the 2m 2f handicap chaseNeil Mulholland has started the season in fine fettle with 33 winners thus far after Super Sabre Sam took the opener with Brendan Powell aboard.

There was a shock in the finale on the card when 28-1 shot Mutley Crew took the honours for trainer Robert Walford, with the mare appreciating the drop from class 4 to class 5.
