Guildford Flames made it a winning four point weekend by competing the double over the visiting Fife Flyers 5-2 at the Spectrum on Sunday evening.

With just 93 seconds on the clock, Guildford opened the scoring through Peter Crinella. Halfway through the opening quarter the visiting Fife Flyers equalised through Aleksi Makela.

Guildford thought they had an immediate response when Cruinella netted his second of the evening, only for the goal to be ruled out due to goaltender interference.

However, Austin Glovers first goal for his new team nudged Flames back into the lead at 15:05. A goalless second period meant Guildford headed into the third period with a slender lead.

In the third period Crinella had the puck in the net on 44:11, this time there was no doubt it was a goal and stood.

Reece Harsch pulled the visitors back to within just a single goal after scoring at 51:26, but a Bradley Lalonde strike a minute later and an empty net goal by Owen Griffiths a minute later sealed the win.

Flames netminder Eamon McAdam who was outstanding on the night saved 31 off 33 shots in the contest.
