A brace from both Ryan Hughes and Peter Crinella set Flames on their way to a home ice victory against the visiting Glasgow Clan at the Spectrum on Wednesday evening.

Early markers from Crinella and Marcus Tesink just 24 seconds apart gave Guildford the perfect start to the evening.

However the Scottish side pulled a goal back at 13:05 with a powerplay effort from Michael Pelech.

Guildford restored their two-goal cushion inside the last five minutes of the opening period when Steven McParland struck.

At 27:18, Crinella bagged his second, before Hughes gave Flames a four-goal advantage to lead 5-1.

Gary Haden reduced the deficit in the 38th minute, to end the second period with the visitors trailing by three heading into the third period.

With only 38 seconds on the clock, Lewis Hook pulled another goal back for the Clan before Hughes’s second on the night in the 47th completed the win for the hosts.
