It was another successful day for champion jockey elect Oisin Murphy who completed a treble at Kempton Park’s evening meeting on Wednesday evening.

Murphy, who will be crowned champion jockey at Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday, rode a quick fire double at the Sunbury-On – Thames course by steering Mr Ubiquitous and Hott Shott to victory.

Hott Shott also became the second leg of a double for trainer Richard Hughes who won the opener under Finley Marsh aboard Spirit Lead Me in the 1m nursery handicap.

Elsewhere on the card, First Kiss improved on her previous run at the course when finishing last of nine 40 days ago by taking the 7f maiden fillies stakes under Kieran Shoemark by a neck from Grace Taufan.

The feature race of the night was the class 2 British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies Restricted Novice Stakes run over 7f. The race went to the Dylan Cunha trained Cartwheel who never looked headed to go on and win by two and a quarter lengths on just her second start of her career.

There was a surprise in the London Middle Distance Qualifier when 20-1 shot Siempre Arturo defied top weight to get up on the line to win by a short head from Aulis for trainer Daniel & Claire Kubler with Jim Crowley aboard the four-year-old.

The penultimate race of the night brought up Murphy’s treble after he guided Queen’s Guard to victory in the 6f handicap.
