Ferdinand, 24, signed for the Cards in December 2016 after impressing for National League South side East Thurrock United, and went on to make 22 appearances under Garry Hill.

After his first taste of National League football, Ferdinand has committed to another season with Woking, and joins Richard Orlu as the players who have signed up for the forthcoming campaign.

Ferdinand began his career in the English Football League with Southend United in the 2010/11 season, making 71 appearances in League Two, where he enjoyed his most successful spell of his career.

The midfielder scored ten of his 12 senior league goals with the Shrimpers, before he joined Peterborough United in the Championship for an undisclosed fee, making a further 32 appearances in England’s second tier.

Ferdinand made 50 appearances for Posh across three seasons, but most of his time was spent out on loan, with the midfielder having spells at Dagenham, Cheltenham, Northampton and Luton.

He was then released by Peterborough at the end of the 2015/16 season, and found himself in England’s sixth tier playing at East Thurrock United.

He helped the Essex side beat Woking’s local rivals Aldershot Town in the FA Trophy before joining Woking, but was part of a Cards team who were humbled 4-0 at the EBB Stadium in December.

After helping Woking stay up, Ferdinand admitted that it was the ambition and aims of manager Limbrick that attracted him to sign on for another season.

Ferdinand’s one and only goal for the Cards came in last month’s Surrey Senior Cup final, where he netted against Ryman Premier League side Merstham.
