Ashley Duthie

Ashley is no stranger to the microphone coming from 28 years’ experience in hospital radio on two stations since 1989. He now presents on community Radio Woking Sundays from 12 noon to 1 pm. Currently an IT professional in IT support for a large company’s head office. Although one of his aspirations is to become a radio producer. Starting this Autumn on a broadcast journalist course at the City University of London leading to a higher diploma.

His interest in radio began as a teenager creating mixtapes with a simple mixing desk, microphone, and two cassette players. And knew then he wanted to get into radio. His breakthrough came in 1989 when he joined a Guildford based hospital radio station.

Apart from all things radio, his interests include a love of music (particularly pop, soft rock, R&B, soul, and 80’s his favourite decade), films, F1, badminton (playing), tennis (playing badly and preferring to watch), computing, and technology.

Ashley’s show covers music from the 70’s to the 90’s with a sprinkling of current chart tracks. The Top 10 Movies at the box office with the odd reviews. What’s on in Surrey. And not forgetting making you think about your music knowledge with his ‘Guess the Intros’ quiz.
