Boreham Wood missed the chance to climb into the National League play-off places and Woking made it five clean sheets in their last seven matches after a goalless draw at the Laithwaite.

The hosts had the best chances of the match, but just lacked that clinical touch.

Kane Ferdinand missed the game for Woking due to serving a one-month suspension.

It was the hosts who created the first shot in anger after just two minutes when Max Kretzschmar’s shot was cleared of the line by Femi Ilesanmi.

Jamar Loza-the star of the show on Saturday against King’s Lynn- was once again looking dangerous early on and following a long ball over the top his effort one on one with Wood’s stopper Nathan Ashmore was hit straight at the keeper.

In a scrappy ending to the opening half, the visitors only effort on goal came late on in the half when Corey Whitely’s long range shot from over 25 yards out was just wide of the mark.

Loza almost breached the Wood defence, but his shot across goal went just wide of the target.

The Cards continued to create the best opportunities and in the 71st minute had a glorious chance of breaking the deadlock. A free kick was swung into the box and there was Ben Gerring with a towering header six yards out which went over the bar.

Cards gaffer  Alan Dowson brought on Jayden Wareham with the youngster’s acrobatic effort well saved by Ashmore.

With the game looking likely to finish in a stalemate, there was one last chance to fall to Woking deep in stoppage time. From another free kick, it was central defender Moussa Diarra with a header that went over the top.

Overall Wood will be pleased with the point after their poor run of recent form. For Woking, it was a case of better finishing and the three points would have been theirs.
