About This Years Local Elections

About this year’s local elections

Woking borough Council

This year’s local Borough and Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections will take place on Thursday 5 May 2016.

Last year the Government approved plans to reduce the number of Borough wards from 17 to 10 and the number of councillors from 36 to 30, following a comprehensive review of the Borough’s ward boundaries by the independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England during 2013.

This means that from Thursday 5 May, there will be 10 new wards each represented by three elected councillors. The new wards are: Byfleet and West Byfleet; Canalside; Goldsworth Park; Heathlands; Hoe Valley; Horsell; Knaphill; Mount Hermon; Pyrford; and St Johns.
