JOEY JONES has signed a new deal with Woking to keep him with the club to the end of the 2017/18 season.

Jones, 23, has been a stalwart for the Cards in the Vanarama National League after signing permanently in the summer of 2014 after leaving Yeovil Town.
The defender, who can also play in midfield, is Anthony Limbrick’s fourth summer signing after brining in Richard Orlu, Kane Ferdinand and Inih Effiong in the past few days.
Jones started off his career with Arsenal before moving to Leicester City in the summer of 2010, and his stint with the Premier League side lasted two seasons before joining Yeovil Town.
The utility man failed to break through to the Yeovil first-team and joined Woking for the back end of the 2013/14 season as a 19-year-old, and made 12 appearances for the Cards.
He also scored twice during his loan spell, and after he was released from the Football League club, he put pen to paper on a permanent deal at the Laithwaite’s Community Stadium.

Jones has played almost every game of the following three seasons for the Cards, playing 130 out of the 138 league games between August 2014 and April 2017.
Overall, the defender has made 145 appearances for the Cards in both the league and the FA Cup as well as several more in the Surrey Senior Cup.
Despite saying that centre-back is his strongest position, he has played 48 games playing in the centre of the midfield, but has played 97 games in his more natural position in defence.
Jones has scored 12 goals during that time and has provided six assists. He was awarded the club’s ‘Goal of the Season’ for the recent 2016/17 season after his 40-yard strike in the 4-3 defeat to Forest Green Rovers.
