All Saints Day, Divali & Carers – The View From Here

This week we celebrate the Christian festival of All Saints Day and the Hindu festival of Divali. In addition we consider the valuable involvement of Carers and Service Users in many institutions in Surrey and their ability to influence policy.

9am – Sean Larkin will be in the studio to give us insights into the Christian celebration of All Saints Day or All Hallow’s Day. We are possibly more aware of the secular Halloween due to its commercialisation however the two festivities have the same roots.

10am – Devdan Sen joins us to consider the Hindu, Sikh and Jain festival of Divali which will be officially celebrated on Wednesday 11th November. The traditional Divali lantern parade will take place in Woking on Thursday 12th November from Gloucester Square through the town to the H. G. Wells Centre. (due to Remembrance Sunday next week we are covering Divali in advance of the actual date)

11am – Janice Clark has been a member of the Carers movement in Surrey for some years. We discuss the valuable input of both Carers and Service Users in policy making across the county.
