This week on real, we are asking how you deal with criticism. Please see below for question:
“Criticism is something we all will have to bear in life. Whether constructive or destructive, criticism can weigh us down.
How would you honestly deal with criticism? If you are able to please give an example.
Thanks.”

says on:Criticism isn’t the easiest thing to take but I think if often depends how one gives the criticism.
im a singer/songwriter and if someone says to me, your stuff is rubbish and you should give up, I think, gosh, you obviously have issues!!! But if someone says I appreciate what you’re trying to do but I’m not into it, or, I like what you did but perhaps try it with less reverb, or more backing or something then that’s useful. People shouldn’t criticise to be hurtful, it should be a means to help someone step up, not knock them back.
I work within the autistic spectrum and it’s not helpful to tell an ASD child how badly they are doing, without making it sound that they can do better in a positive way. We all need to feel we can do better and not be made to feel we’ve failed, don’t we 🙂
