Woking will put their impressive home record on the line when they host the league leaders Sutton United at the Laithwaite Community Stadium this afternoon.

Anthony Limbrick will be hoping his side can produce a similar performance to Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Solihull with Jason Banton and Charlie Carter on the scoresheet.

Manager Limbrick describe the win as a “strange game” stating his side “were unfortunate to go in 1-0 up at halftime thinking it could have been a couple more.”

He also added: “I must give credit to these players they really do know how to bounce back after results like we had at the weekend, sometimes we just have to admit that 3 points is job done.”

Woking fans were left pleased with the midweek triumph over Solihull. Radio Woking Sport’s August ‘Player of the Month’ Joe Ward didn’t manage to score for the fourth successive game on Tuesday but did manage to assist Carter for the winning goal.

Carter has now scored in his last two home games and will be hoping to make it three if he returns to the starting line-up this afternoon.

Richard Orlu’s injury is still unknown and Joey Jones could make a return after missing the last 4 games, whilst Fabio Saraiva is back in full training.

The visitors Sutton United are flying this season and have won four out of their last five away games. Today’s match is going to be a really intriguing encounter as we have the second best home team in the league against the second best away team in the league.

Sutton club legend Craig Dundas scored his 100th goal for the U’s in their midweek win against Dagenham and Redbridge.

The two sides have met four times in their history with the Cards winning three out of their four encounters. Their latest win was in April 2017 when Delano Sam-Yorke and Gozie Ugwu scored in a 2-1 win for the Cards.

The previous two wins before that were both in 2011 when the Cards hammered Sutton 4-1 and 5-0 respectively.
