Woking have a chance to create history and get into the third round of the FA cup for the first time in 21 years when the Cards hosts Peterborough at the Laithwaite Community Stadium.
In 1997 the Cards were the first ever non league side to to hold a Premier League team to a draw and on that day they held Coventry to a draw after Stephen Thompson equalised late for Woking.
Last year the Cards beat Stockport 4-2 in the first round before falling to a 3-0 defeat against Accrington Stanley when Billy Kee bagged a double and John O’Sullivan also scored after Charlie Carter was sent off for Woking.
Woking come into Sunday’s game in a poor run of form having only won two of their last 9 games but opponents Peterborough are not on great form either having only won two out their last eleven league matches.
The Posh conceded two stoppage time goals to draw at Charlton on Tuesday. They do have a very dangerous attack with players such as Danny Lloyd, Marcus Maddison and of course former Woking fan favourite Jack Marriot who scored 16 goals over his 3 loan spells.
Woking are without Jason Banton and Josh Staunton this weekend after manager Anthony Limbrick confirmed they will make the substitute bench at best and may still not even make the squad.
Nathan Baxter has a ankle knock and Richard Orlu is suspended. On a more positive note, Louis Ramsay is expected back in the squad. Woking and Peterborough have never met competitively.
