Roy ‘The Boy’ Allaway

Roy started by collecting requests from the children’s ward at Hospital Radio Wey at St . Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey. A year later he was ‘Highly Commended’ as male presenter of the year, with judges intrigued by the amount of bloopers included on the entry. Then, after getting to know the managers of Woking, Aldershot and Farnbrough whilst hosting ‘Friday Night Football’ on County Sound, he took over the evening show on 96.4 The Eagle. He interviewed 100 local bands, and loved their music, still listening to them now. Then came the big break and Roy and his family moved to King’s Lynn to host “The Roy Allaway breakfast show on KLFM 96.7” with the cheesy tag line “Start your day the Allaway”.    Highlights include broadcasting and living in a shop window for a week, being sold on Ebay and becoming the UK’s most popular man! His favourite interview was with legendary 80’s duo Go West.
